SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA, January 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- fine artist Karol Wyckoff has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for exhibiting dedication, leadership and excellence in an artistic career that has spanned more than 50 years.
Karol's New England and Cape Cod-inspired "weatherscapes", landscapes, tranquil boat scenes, and depictions of country and city buildings and salt marshes can be found on the walls of hundreds of private homes and many major corporations. Her art has also been published in several books and periodicals and showcased in numerous exhibitions and galleries, including at the Cape Cod Conservatory, the World Trade Center, the Smithsonian Museum, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, the Powers Gallery, the Savannah Art Gallery and Allied Artists of America. Since 1997, Ms. Wyckoff has been creating and selling her work through Wyckoff Studio. She previously worked as an art director in Boston and New York, and has a background in commercial art and illustration, promotional design and advertising.
Karol enjoys loaning her work to travelling exhibits and participating in local competitions. She also teaches art, volunteers with the Cultural Center of Cape Cod and the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda, Florida, and donates her art to several charitable funds each year. She attributes her success to hard work, diligence and excellent marketing, and credits her first husband, who set up a five-year plan for her to follow, as an inspiration and mentor, who enabled her to establish her career as a marketable fine artist.
In recognition of her talent, Ms. Wyckoff has received awards from the Naples Art Association, Copley Society, New England Watercolor Society, Cape Cod Art Association and the Visual Arts Center of Punta Gorda, Florida. She holds membership to all of the aforementioned organizations save the first, and has been a scholarship donor to RotaryInternational as well as the Rhode Island School of Design. Ms. Wyckoff received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design in 1958.
