Diane Drew Sherer Tucker has been selected as a Professional of the Year for 2011-2012
Rutherfordton, NC, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Diane D. Sherer Tucker has been selected as a special honoree based on her professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials she has provided in association with her Cambridge Who's Who membership.
Ms. Sherer Tucker has 16 years of writing experience and is the sole proprietor of Diane Tucker Studios. As an author, she writes about various topics, including women and abortion and is also skilled at illustrating children's stories and poetry. In addition, she hosts a radio show entitled "From a Mother's Heart: Poems, Prayers and Stories" every Monday on WGMA (1520 AM). Most of her songs, poems, and plays have been read on this program.
Ms. Tucker wrote the "Petambi Series" and the "Darby Rumbles Series" of books. Her play, "Darby Rumbles Dolls," was produced last winter with a cast of over fifty children and adults. Diane played the lead, a funny old woman named Darby, and wrote all 19 songs featured in the play. Ms. Tucker has finished her third play, "Darby Rumbles Meets the Queen's Horse," and another work, "Down the Back Roads," was written and illustrated in 2002. She has published four children's books.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Ms. Sherer Tucker holds a Master's degee in Correlated Studies in Speech and a BA in Dance from Bennington College. She received a Fletcher Foundation Grant and an Emerging Artist Grant. She attributes her success to her strong faith in Christ, a vivid imagination, and passion for writing about nature, children and the mysterious reality of Spirit.
She has begun searching for a publisher for "Petambi and the Moon," a Petambi book centered on high school romance, musicals, and the study of Genesis. With struggle and surprises, Petambi is able to help her sister, learns strength of heart, and finds courage she did not know she had. Throughout all the moon is her constant friend.
In addition, Diane has kept diaries for over forty years which are colorful and vivid descriptions of her life as mother of three children, professional clown and choreographer, and the journey of her Christian walk with its valleys and mountain tops. She has begun her autobiography with excerpts from her diaries. Her hope is to help women while bringing glory to God. Since the diaries are hilarious, she also hopes to bring joy to all her readers.
