ORHIMA, Oregon Health Information Management Association, commissioned Debra Otterstein to create an original art piece for the Not-So-Silent Auction to be held at the 83rd AHIMA Convention in Salt Lake City, UT October 1-6, 2011.
COVE, OR, September 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debra Otterstein is a medical record coder by day and wildlife artist by night. "At first glance they seem to be two different pursuits but in reality they both require dedication and an eye for detail" Otterstein stated. Debra's knowledge of muscles and bone structures are applied in both endeavors. Debra is best known for creating unique paintings on feathers and it is one of these creations that will be part of the event in Salt Lake City, UT.
Each year ORHIMA, http://orhima.org, selects a special piece to support the AHIMA, http://www.ahima.org, Foundation Merit Scholarship Program by participating in the Not-So-Silent Auction. "This year we chose Debra not only for her unique art pieces but also because she works in the Health Information Management field and has been a long time member of AHIMA" stated Sarah Hall, Manager of HIM at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande, OR, http://www.grh.org, and Treasurer of ORHIMA.
"I was honored to be chosen by the ORHIMA committee and hope that everyone enjoys the Rufous hummingbird with long stem roses" Otterstein stated.
