New Saturday Staple for Angelenos
Parisian-Inspired Vintage Market Comes to Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, CA, July 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On July 23rd, a new vintage market concept will launch at Hollywood High School. Open Market Place will be the premiere venue for local designers, artists and antique purveyors to share sought after goods with consumers. Taking place each Saturday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm in the heart of Hollywood, the event will help to generate funds to support various programs at Hollywood High School.
David Pilcer, Open Market Place's founder, started working in the markets in France selling perfumes when he was 18. He loved the energy and atmosphere of outdoor markets and wanted to reproduce that Parisian atmosphere in Los Angeles with a high-end market for handmade goods, delicious food, live music, great people and an overall exciting and bustling destination.
"We want to create a real QUALITY event with Open Market Place," says Pilcer, "one where you can discover one-of-a-kind merchandise. Our vendor selection process is tough. We want only the best!"
To begin, the event should host up to 75 vendors, but Pilcer hopes to attract up to 250 vendors as the event grows and gains popularity. Participating vendors include antique furniture finds, hand crafted trinkets, trendy food trucks, vintage fashion, handmade jewelry, live music and more. Each Saturday through August and part of September, Open Market Place will be FREE to attendees. After the September 10th GRAND OPENING, it will cost $2.00 to enter for the day and $1.00 for children, students and seniors.
