Diego Antolini Writes "Atomic Colors", Dedicated to The Fukushima Tragedy
For the first edition of the "Green Days" exhibition in Perugia, Diego Antolini writes a contribution to the work of Japanese artist Yuko Otake
ROME, ITALY, May 12, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- From May 12 to May 15 Perugia will host the first edition of the ecological and environmental exhibition "Green Days". On Saturday 14 Japanese artist Yuko Otake will present her work at the forefront of the Church of S.Stefano, Via dei Priori. The opera is dedicated to the tragedy of Fukushima, Japan. Diego Antolini has accepted to contribute with a letter which bears the same name as Yuko's work, "Atomic Colors". The text has been translated in English and in Japanese; Antolini will read the letter to the audience inside the church; then the attendee could admire Yuko's sculpture, and a concert "dedicated to Japan" will close the evening. The event is sponsored by the "Via dei Priori City Mall" in collaboration with the municipality of Perugia.
During the concert, Perugia officials will raise funds to the orphans of Sendai, one of the most damaged cities in Japan.
"It's a great pleasure for me to participate to this event - said Diego Antolini - even though I wish I could do more for the Japanese people who were struck by the Tsunami. My contribution supports Yuko's work; she is a talented artist and was deeply affected by what has happened on her homeland. The title "Atomic Colors" has been thought as an indication and a warning against the abuse of technology, for its misuse can cause irreversible damages to life".
