LateRooms.com - See Stadel Museum Collection in Rome
Van Gogh, Picasso and Renoir are among the artists featured in a new exhibition in Rome.
ROME, ITALY, March 18, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Travellers in Rome have the chance to view a stunning variety of major artworks in the Stadel Museum collection, which includes pieces by Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
A selection of paintings from the Frankfurt venue's 19th and 20th century sections will be showcased at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni from April 1st to July 17th 2011.
It is the first time that this number of artistic treasures has been borrowed from the German institution and placed on public display in Italy.
According to the Italian museum, the installation will cover everything from realism and impressionism to symbolism and the avant-garde.
Paul Klee, Max Ernst and Paul Cezanne are just a few more of the masters whose work can be seen in the collection.
"The main part of the exhibition is devoted to symbolism, represented here by the group's most important exponents (Bocklin, Ensor, Moreau, Munch and Redon) with their evocation of imagined and disquieting worlds," a representative from the venue stated.
Admission costs EUR10 (GBP8.70). It opens at 10:00 local time daily, except Monday when it is closed, with the installation accessible until 22:30 on Friday and Saturday, and 20:00 every other day.
