Fine Art Painter Bruce Wood Wins Award In Exhibition At The Franklin Art Association
The Franklin Art Association has included two paintings by Bruce Wood in their Fall 2010 Members' Exhibition. One of the paintings, "Waiting For Attention", was awarded Second Place in the Mixed Media category.

FRANKLIN, MA, January 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Contemporary impressionist painter Bruce Wood is a new Member of the The Franklin Art Association in Franklin, Massachusetts. His acrylic paintings "My New Home" and "Waiting For Attention" were included in the Association's Fall 2010 Members' Exhibition . The show, titled "New Images," was held at Restaurant 3 on Route 140 in Franklin, MA on November 6th. "Waiting For Attention" was awarded Second Place in the Mixed Media category.

Bruce Wood is a Boston native who moved to Chicago in the 1970's to study at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received a Master of Fine Arts Degree. He stayed in the Midwest, opening the former Fenway Galleries in Chicago and Southwest Michigan. He is widely known for his paintings of Lake Michigan, which are in collections across the world.

He recently moved back to Massachusetts and is now painting views of New England villages and harbors. In 2010 Bruce Wood was elected into the Cape Cod Art Association, and the Wellesley Society of Artists. His membership in the Franklin Art Association and inclusion in their exhibitions is another step toward establishing him as a major New England artist.

The Franklin Art Association was established in 1971 to provide a forum for the promotion of visual arts; for the preservation of the finest artistic traditions by means of exhibiting works, conducting classes, lectures, and sponsoring other activities favorable to artistic expression and to provide friendly exchanges among painters, photographers, sculptors and those interested in the fine arts.
