Meletha B. Everett Honored for Excellence in Poetry & Visual Arts
Meletha B. Everett is Cambridge Publishing's 2010/2011 Professional of the Year in Poetry & Visual Arts

BRANDON, FL, September 08, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Meletha B. Everett, Artist and Writer, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in poetry & visual arts.

A talented author and artist, Meletha B. Everett demonstrates over 42 years of dedication to the arts. Comfortable working with a variety mediums, she creates beautiful scenic works and portraits in watercolor, acrylic, oil, silkscreen, metal repousse' and block print. Ms. Everett, who has exhibited her work throughout the United States and Australia, has become sought after by art enthusiasts to commission pieces. In fact, her paintings have been sold to collectors throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico and Jamaica.

In addition to her private artistic endeavors, Ms. Everett teaches watercolor classes at the Center Place Fine Art & Civic Association in Brandon, Fla. She has also authored workbooks including "Cards Galore & More" and "Color & More." These pieces offer informative notes on working with acrylic, watercolor and oil, and profile techniques on mixing colors. An inspired poet, Ms. Everett penned "Poetry Montage," a collection of her best-loved poems. She is currently in the process of writing another anthology of poems, which she intends to have completed in the near future.

Ms. Everett is passionate about honing her skills as an artist. With this in mind, she travels throughout the United States and Mexico to participate in a variety of workshops that serve to enrich her talents. She is actively involved with a number of local and national art institutions and serves as the president of the Tampa Branch of the National League of American Pen Women. Her other affiliations include the Miniature Art Association of Florida, the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Greater Brandon Arts Council.

Ms. Everett attended Texas Southmost College and Texas A&M University - Laredo. She completed industry-related coursework at San Miguel de Allende in Mexico and participated in art instruction with a myriad of renowned professionals. In recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of fine art, Ms. Everett was named Cambridge Publishing's Professional of the Year for the 2010/2011 year.
