Jon Onye Lockard Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Fine Arts
Jon Onye Lockard is a respected painter, muralist and university professor

ANN ARBOR, MI, September 14, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jon Onye Lockard, President of Visions of Destiny, Inc. and Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan, and Professor Emeritus Washtenaw Community College, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in fine arts.

A respected painter, illustrator, portraitist, and educator, Jon Onye Lockard has devoted his career to the arts. He stands at the helm of Visions of Destiny, a private practice through which he renders artistic visions for commercial and private clients. Best known for painting murals and portraits in oil and acrylic, Professor Lockard also teaches the Arts and Cultures of African American People at the University of Michigan and serves as an art consultant and a public speaker. He is currently working as an artistic consultant for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial Monument Project in Washington, DC.

Mr. Lockard holds a master of arts from the University of Toronto and a bachelor of arts from Wayne State University. His affiliations include the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, the National Education Association, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Foundation and the National Conference of Artsts. Most recently, he was declared a Professional of the Year in Fine Arts by Cambridge Who's Who .
