John Joseph Freeman Named to Exclusive Membership Organization
John Joseph Freeman, USMC, is a Vietnam War veteran.
HOUSTON, TX, July 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Joseph Freeman, Retired Art Director for the Federal Signal Corporation, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in his career.
Mr. Freeman has 30 years of overall professional experience as a graphics and sign designer and illustrator, both on the drawing board and via computerized imaging media. His responsibilities with Federal Signal Corporation included overseeing graphic design, sign design, and sign engineering within the Houston office Sign Division. Federal Signal Corporation has since separated the Sign Division and is now operating under the name Federal Heath Sign Company, a corporate move that took place after Mr. Freeman's retirement.
Prior to his position as a graphic artist he served in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. He served in a rifle infantry battalion in the Vietnam War, as well as numerous other posts. He is a member of The Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Mr. Freeman received The Combat Action ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, and the Vietnam Gallantry Cross unit citation. Additionally, he received the Vietnam Civil Actions Unit Citation, the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with 1 bronze star for a second award, and additional service and campaign medals. Mr. Freeman was an accomplished Marine Corps marksman earning both the Rifle Expert Badge with bars and the Pistol Expert Badge with bars. Additionally, he was a far east intramural pistol champion. His notable accomplishments while serving the United States Marines included a Commanding General's Certificate of Commendation for outstanding leadership and professionalism and two Certificates of Merit for superior performance of duties as a Marine sergeant assigned to various military corrections units.
