PUEBLO, CO, April 13, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Hazel A. Imes, Educator and Artist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of artistry.

An envisioned artist, Hazel A. Imes has been continuously honing her talents for the past three decades. Best noted for her paintings, Ms. Imes works primarily with acrylics to create works depicting a variety of subject matter. Her pieces have been met with acclaim and were displayed in restaurants in both Colorado and California. Ms. Imes made an appearance at the Beulah Art Fair and was awarded first place honors for abstract painting at the Colorado State Fair in 1969.

Aside from her efforts in fine art, Ms. Imes is a dedicated educator. She served as an elementary school principal in charge of curriculum development, which included reading, spelling and writing programs. Distinguished for her efforts in educational leadership, Ms. Imes spent much of her career mentoring teachers and evaluating students as well as scholastic and community programs. She notes that a love of art and teaching inspired her to pursue a career in academics and considers the support of her family and community to be the driving force behind her success.

Ms. Imes earned a master's degree in elementary education, plus 90 credits, from Western State College of Colorado. She holds a bachelor of arts in home economics from the University of Northern Colorado and is an accredited principal and certified lifetime teacher. Looking ahead, Ms. Imes intends to participate in more art contests and continue to share her knowledge as an educator.
