Paris' Jeu de Paume is exhibiting Always Be Elsewhere by Klara Liden.

PARIS, FRANCE, August 06, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- An exhibition of the work of Klara Liden entitled Always Be Elsewhere is now on show in Paris and may appeal especially to those interested in avant-garde artwork.

She has created a site-specific piece that is available for guests at hotels in Paris to view at the Jeu de Paume until September 5th 2010.

Liden does a lot of work with hijacked spaces and architectural interventions to highlight an issue within society.

The organisers explained that the one she has produced at the French art space includes a "sculptural installation" made from advertising tarpaulins, which partially block visitors' entrance to one of the exhibition rooms.

She also invites the viewer to observe her as she subverts conventions in different ways - in one instance diving into the Seine - in a series of slides.

"These poetically expand the combination of angst, alienation and quirky humour of her oeuvre, each demonstrating a small but derisive action performed by the artist herself," explained the venue.

There are plenty of other excellent displays at the venue to discover, including Willy Ronis at the Monnaie de Paris and Bruno Serralongue's Feux de Camp.

Visitors planning on checking out this show can enter between 12:00 and 21:00 local time on Tuesdays, 12:00 and 19:00 from Wednesday to Friday and 10:00 and 19:00 at the weekend. The building is closed on Mondays.

Entrance costs EUR7 (GBP5.78).
