LateRooms.com - Head to Rome's Palazzo Venezia for The Form of the Renaissance
The Form of the Renaissance offers visitors a compelling look at some of the creations of Andrea Bregno, Donatello and Michelangelo.
ROME, ITALY, July 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Anyone with an interest in 15th century Italian art should be sure to check out The Form of the Renaissance at Rome's prestigious Palazzo Venezia.
Guests at 5 star hotels in Rome will have the chance to admire work by hugely important artists such as Andrea Bregno, Michelangelo and Donatello in this stunning exhibition.
Running until September 5th, the display of 35 items is sure to be fascinating for art enthusiasts.
According to the Financial Times, one of the highlights of the exhibition is Donatello's work, with Testa Carafa one of the finest examples of this.
The publication noted that Bregno is not as famous as either Michelangelo or Donatello in the modern world, but this was not always the case.
Although little is known about Bregno's early life, it is thought the Lombard artist arrived in Rome in the early 1460s, when he was in his 40s. Over the next four decades, he would become one of the city's most popular and prolific artists," it explained.
Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday between 08:30 and 19:00 local time, although visitors should be aware that the ticket office closes at 18:30.
Tickets for the exhibition cost EUR4 (GBP3.33), although there are concessionary prices for EU citizens, with under-18s and over-65s getting in free, while 18 to 25-year olds pay only EUR2.
