An exhibition at Dubai's Gallery Isabella van den Eynde will close in July.

DUBAI, UAE, June 23, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Those that have an eye for contemporary art who are staying in Dubai hotels towards the end of July will have the last chance to check out an installation at the Gallery Isabelle van den Eynde.

Called Set Me Free From My Chains, it involves giant colourful Arabic letters formed by the artist from aluminium sheets and flashing neon lights that spell out the title of the exhibition.

On display at the gallery since June 10th 2010, the last opportunity for art lovers staying in Dubai hotels to visit it will come on July 23rd.

Zoulikha Bouabdellah, the Algerian artist behind the installation, explained that a lot of her work is motivated by her desire to challenge figures of authority.

"I can't be accused of representing human shapes [but] at the same time, I'm totally representing them, it's subversion," she said. "The way to divert is to be smart and be wise, the means to escape for a woman is subversion."

Having graduated from the esteemed Ecole Nationale Superieure d'Art de Cergy in Paris eight years ago, Bouabdellah has won a series of accolades for her work, including the Contemporary Art Prize Le Meurice in 2008.

The gallery is located in the Al Quoz Industrial Area on Al Serkal Avenue.
