Chiang Mai's Sangdee Gallery is hosting a new exhibition from two international artists.

CHIANG MAI, THAILAND, June 20, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Those with an eye for art who are booking accommodation in Chiang Mai for July should make sure they get themselves down to a new installation at the city's Sangdee Gallery.

The work by acclaimed artists Sawan Yawnghe and Sonnenkind will be on show at the art space in July 2010, with the collection consisting of ten watercolour paintings on paper and six oil and acrylic works on canvas.

Post-war influences can be seen in the images produced by the pair, as well as film noir posters, PR techniques and propaganda from the period.

Having met on a plane journey between Rome and Berlin in 2009, the two realised that they share have much in common and so decided to begin collaborating with each other.

Yawnghe has previously seen his creations displayed around the world - including at the Venice Biennale last year - and he can count Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio among his extensive list of fans.

Sonnenkind, meanwhile, had some of her work displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in Panzano, Italy.

Sangdee Gallery itself, which is a non-profit space dedicated to promoting contemporary visual arts in the city, has been well worth a visit from people staying in accommodation in Thailand since it opened back in January.
