Docucopies.com Donates $1,000 to the Non-Profit Urban Arts Academy
The Minneapolis organization provides arts programs and instruction for at-risk youth
HUDSON, WI, April 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The online color copy and printing company Docucopies.com and their parent company, Quantum Digital, have donated $1,000 to a local non-profit which provides arts programs for at-risk urban youth.
The Urban Arts Academy, which operates out of Calvary Lutheran Church in South Minneapolis, has been providing materials, professional instruction, and a fun, safe facility for local kids to make art since 2001. They have year-round programs, including pre-school, after-school and summer programs, all of which are free or very low in cost. They also have Summer Arts Camps for children of various age groups.
Quantum Digital has been contributing to this organization for several years and are once again happy to renew their dedication.
"It's a great organization that does a lot of good for kids who need it," says Roe Pressley, the company's Chief Public Relations Officer. "Unfortunately it's the arts and humanities which are usually first on the chopping block when governments and organizations have to cut their budgets. So we're happy help offset the damage done by cuts to the local art community by giving to the Urban Arts Academy."
The Urban Arts Academy holds an annual Spring gala dinner which features gourmet food, beer and wine, and a whole room of donated items available for bidding in the silent auction. This year's event is on Saturday, April 24.
