Seville is hosting The Schizos of Madrid - an exhibition which looks at Madrid's figurativism movement.
SEVILLE, SPAIN, April 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Art lovers should head to the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art this spring to see The Schizos of Madrid exhibition in Seville, as it gives an indication of the work that was being carried out by a certain movement during the 1970s.
Many of the artists on show are of Andalusian origin, with contributors including Chema Cobo, Rafael Perez Minguez, Manolo Quejido and Juan Antonio Aguirre.
The display runs until May 16th and offers attendees staying at accommodation in Seville the chance to gain a deeper understanding of a movement dubbed Madrid's figurativism.
It does this by adding context to all the work on show, using photographs, films, music and books, as well as any other objects that might help people to get a sense of the period.
"The various rooms enable the reconstruction of the path taken by these artists right from their beginnings, to show the uniqueness of a proposal that emerged from an elaborate synthesis of multiple and seemingly contradictory stimuli," explained the venue.
If visitors arrive before May 2nd, they could also check out printed material of the Spanish avant-garde from 1912 to 1936, which is also on display in the art space.
The centre is closed on Monday, but is open from 10:00 to 21:00 (local time) from Tuesday to Friday, 11:00 to 21:00 on Saturday and 10:00 to 15:00, with entrance costing EUR1.80 (GBP1.50) to see the temporary exhibitions and the monument contained within the structure, while a full pass priced at EUR3.01.
To make the most of The Schizos of Madrid - you should consider booking your hoteles en Sevilla to avoid disappointment.
