Astrid Castillo Quesada Paints Daring Forms in Contemporary German Art at Agora Gallery
AGORA GALLERY PRESENTS ASTRID CASTILLO QUESADA IN AN EXHIBITION OF CONTEMPORARY GERMAN ART

NEW YORK, NY, March 04, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature German artist, Astrid Castillo Quesada, in its premier exhibition Contemporary German Art: The New York Experience. The exhibition is scheduled to run from March 23, 2010 through April 13, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, March 25, 2010).
Award-winning photographer Astrid Castillo Quesada is a watcher, a seer, a student of the living world. Since childhood she has studied the people and places around her, transforming this spirit into beautiful and evocative works of art. Taking the unseen subtext of her subject matter and giving it form, Quesada creates daring scenarios featuring the best and worst of human nature. A work presenting dazzling angelic beauty is followed by a sinister image of abandonment; each piece is crafted with expert skills in photography and digital manipulation. No matter what theme she is exploring, Quesada's compassion for the human condition is particularly tangible. Audiences may detect a real sense of the divine within her photographs, as the artist attempts to reach beyond the physical world toward something enigmatic. "From time to time even characteristics of my strong deism and godliness can be found in my art," she states.

Quesada's work has been published in major magazines and exhibited in Germany and the United States. She resides in Neersen, Germany.
Exhibition Dates: March 23, 2010 - April 13, 2010
