View the Delicate Details of Royuela's Paintings in Sensorial Realities at Agora Gallery
Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature Spanish artist, Royuela, in Sensorial Realities. The exhibition is scheduled to run from February 02, 2010 through February 23, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, February 04, 2010).


NEW YORK, NY, February 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In her exquisitely crafted paintings, Royuela brings to the viewer a direct connection with the intricate reality of natural aspects often overlooked; the lichens on a rock, the moss in broken earth and spindly grasses whose heads leave spectral shadows on the finely textured surface. It is a testament to Royuela's masterly draughtsmanship and supreme patience that her works, rendered in oils, retain all the delicacy and fine detail of a pencil drawing, with the subtlety and depth only oil paint can provide. Her handling of color supports her work, not seeking to exaggerate or dramatize the microcosms she paints, but staying true both to nature and to her vision. Royuela's loyalty to an unsentimentalized depiction of nature lends her work an immense strength and integrity that comes through in her works - unpretentious, real.

Royuela currently lives and works in Elorrio, Spain. In her own words, her mission is to "convince others that life is simpler, yet more interesting, than what we persist in thinking."
