Anne D. Grandin's Works Create Harmony in Elemental Realms at Agora Gallery
Chelsea's Agora Gallery will feature Native American artist, Anne D. Grandin, in Elemental Realms. The exhibition is scheduled to run from February 02, 2010 through February 23, 2010 (opening reception: Thursday, February 04, 2010).

NEW YORK, NY, February 02, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Connecting to Native American and her own spiritual identity, Anne D. Grandin's works form a fascinating oeuvre which encompass both the landscapes of the world and the landscapes of the inner being. She works in oils, acrylics and spray paints, layering her works and glazing, adding depth and subtle texture. With a palette of intense earth tones, the richness and vibrancy of the paint hovers just below the surface, intense but not overt. Through these, startling yellows or halcyon blue break through acting as a dramatic counterpoint to the harmonious balance of tone. Using fine, almost invisible brushstrokes Grandin creates bodies of color that undulate through her work, swirling and interconnecting to form abstract patterns that come together to form hills, trees, paths and seas. Appearing on varied surfaces, from traditional canvases to small shrine-like boxes and expansive murals, Grandin's work is an accomplished reflection of her psyche.
