LOCAL ARTIST; PAUL DAVID TO BE SHOWCASED DURING ALBANY'S 1ST FRIDAY
Local artist Paul David will be showcased at Overit Media in Albany during the May 1st Friday.Paul David's "Essence of a Man," is a series of surreal oil on canvas paintings reflecting a thoughtful perspective on the intimate connection between life, mankind, and the Earth we live on.
/Art and Artists News Articles/ - ALBANY, NY, May 02, 2008 - At an Albany "First Friday" event May 2nd, Overit Multi Media will showcase area artist Paul David's (Cobleskill, NY) compilation, "Essence of a Man", The event is open to the public, the exhibit is scheduled at Overit, 303 Hamilton Street, Albany, New York, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Paul David's "Essence of a Man," is a series of surreal oil on canvas paintings reflecting a thoughtful perspective on the intimate connection between life, mankind, and the Earth we live on.
Paul David lives in Cobleskill and has been a life-long area resident. He attended SUNY Fredonia and SUNY Albany, he was employed as Community Director at SCAAP and is currently at work on new paintings and a children's book. He was recently accepted at a juried show during the July 4th weekend at the Berkshire Art Festival in Massachusetts. Some of his work can be seen on the website www.pauldavidart.com.
"First Friday," a multi venue event series coordinated by Michael Weidrich and administered by the Upstate Artists Guild, is held the first Friday of every month. The series aims to introduce the unique vitality of the artists and art community of the Albany region to a wider audience. The Upstate Artists Guild maintains a schedule of new artists and venues for the series on the website, www.1stfridayalbany.org.
